Terroir
This Lieu-Dit ‘Silberberg de Rorschwihr’ is owned and worked by just 3 talented winegrowers. Eric Pourre, Bernard Baggy and Philippe Vogt are very involved in the quality of these 1.55 hectares. The yield is 47hl/ha. (Only 8,500 bts produced in 2019). These families have been part of the Cave de Ribeauvillé since the beginning (since 1895) and have been members of the Board of Directors for over 10 years.
The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand.
Whole bunches are pressed in pneumatic presses to avoid crushing. The juices are separated to optimise the quality of our wines. After static settling, the wines are fermented under temperature control and then matured on fine lees for 7 months.
This Riesling has an intense, rich, mineral nose, with hints of citrus fruit. The palate is long, powerful and perfectly balanced.
What to marry it with?
This Riesling is ideal with large fish in sauce, lobster, sauerkraut or mussels marinière.
